Madlanga Commission Files Criminal Charges Against Feroz Khan
The Madlanga Commission has decided to take formal legal action against Feroz Khan. Legal officials will open a criminal case against him because he refused to follow an official legal request to give his testimony.
A subpoena is a legal order that requires a person to appear in court or before an official panel. Failing to answer a subpoena is a serious offense that can lead to criminal penalties under the law.
Khan was required to appear before the panel to answer important questions about ongoing investigations. However he chose not to show up as required by the commission.
Because he ignored the legal summons the panel is moving forward with criminal charges. The commission wants to show that no individual can avoid participating in official legal proceedings.
